SPORTS

CCA Sports Teams (Grades 6-8)

ALL students trying out for any CCA sport must have up-to-date paperwork in Dragonfly. This paperwork includes a Health History Form, Physical Examination Form, Medical Eligibility Form, Consent to Participate & Release Form and Concussion Information Sheet.. An annual physical is required and appropriate paperwork must be completed by a physician. If ALL forms are not completed, then your athlete may not be allowed to participate in the tryouts, games or season. For any and all questions, please email athletics@cardinalcharter.org.

CARPOOL

Morning Arrival - Carpool Procedures

  • For Safety reasons. please enter using Grand Heights off of Maynard. Do not come in any other way as it will affect carpool.

  • Please note: Do NOT park or let your student out on St. Charles Place. Waking your student in or letting them walk across the carpool lanes from St. Charles Place to the school interferes with carpool and is a safety hazard.

  • Gates Open at 7:10 AM to begin lining up.

  • All lanes should be filled to keep cars off the street.

  • We will unload approximately 20 cars at a time using our sidewalk areas - this is a change from previous years.

  • Adults will be stationed along the sidewalk to assist.

  • Pleas ensure your student is ready to exit the vehicle once you are single file and the sidewalk is to the right of your car. Parents will not be permitted to leae their cars to enter the building.

  • Parents please make sure your student is able to carry any classroom supplies you are sending with them as parents are being asked to stay in their cars. If you need to send supplies on multiple days to make this happen, please do so.

Afternoon Dismissal - Carpool Procedures

  • For Safety reasons, please enter using Grande Heights off of Maynard. Do not come in any other way as it will affect carpool.

  • Gates open at 2:00 PM for lining up.

  • We will first fill up carpool lanes 2 and 3 (inner lanes). Once those are full, a red "flag" will be put on the on the back windshield of the last cars in those lanes. At that point lanes 1 and 4 will start filling. Once lanes 2 and 3 merge in to two lanes, they will continue until the flagged cars have moved forward then lanes 1 and 4 will start merging in to the two lane area until their "flagged vehicles go through the merge. Then lanes 1 and 4 stop merging and lanes 2 and 3 begin merging again. The process repeats until all cars have been through carpool.

  • Once merged in to the 2 lane area, you will be directed to a specific cone/number for pickup.

  • A traffic director will signal when it's time to move:

    • Outer Lane (Lanes 3/4) will turn left to exit.

    • Inner Lane (Lanes 2/1) will turn right to exit.

Late Pickup at Dismissal

Late pickup is for any student not picked up in our carpool loop once the gate closes at 3:30pm.

Anyone picking up a late student:

  • Must have a valid ID - NC/State ID, NC/State Driver's License, or Passport. We can not accept copies or pictures.

  • The person picking up the student must be listed in PowerSchool with school pickup access.

These procedures are there for the safety of your student(s). While we recognize this is a change from the past, we appreciate your support in keeping our student(s) safe.
