Carpool Reminders: Safety First

Thank you for working with us as everyone learns and adjusts to our arrival and dismissal procedures. Following our carpool expectations helps keep all students safe and ensures traffic moves as efficiently as possible.

Morning Arrival - Carpool Procedures

• For Safety reasons, please enter using Grande Heights off of Maynard. Do not come in any other way as it will affect carpool.

• Morning Arrival | 7:30-7:55 AM

• AM drop-off is single-file. Drivers are asked to courteously merge into one lane

• Carpool drop-off begins at 7:30 AM

• The carpool gate closes promptly at 7:55 AM

• The cafeteria entrance closes at 8:00 AM

• All students must be in their classrooms by 8:00 AM

• Students arriving after 8:00 AM are considered tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian in the front office

Helpful Reminder: Please build extra time into your morning routine, especially during these first few weeks as everyone becomes familiar with our procedures. A few extra minutes can make the morning much less stressful for everyone and help students begin their day ready to learn.

Afternoon Dismissal - Carpool Procedures

• For Safety reasons, please enter using Grande Heights off of Maynard. Do not come in any other way as it will affect carpool.

• Afternoon Dismissal | 3:00-3:30 PM

• The carpool gate opens at 2:15 PM for vehicles to begin lining up

• Please display your hangtag as you go through the line so the number can be entered quickly into the system. If you do not have your hangtag, you can write the number on something else and show it to the attendant or just roll down your window and tell the attendant your number. But we need your number to get you through the line quickly.

• PM carpool is two lines. Once you are in a line, please stay there. Switching lanes causes problems for everyone and can result in a delay in getting your child to your vehicle.

• Afternoon carpool begins at 3:00 PM

• Carpool concludes at 3:30 PM

• Please arrive on time for pickup

Consistent and timely pickup helps us maintain a safe, organized, and efficient dismissal process for all students. Thank you for helping us keep carpool running smoothly.

Anyone picking up a late student

• Must have a valid ID - NC/State ID, NC/State Driver's License, or Passport. We can not accept copies or pictures.

• The person picking up the student must be listed in PowerSchool with school pickup access.

These procedures are there for the safety of your student(s). While we recognize this is a change from the past, we appreciate your support in keeping our student(s) safe.
